song of the week nr. 9: howler - this one's different

hey guys,
it's time for another song of the week (yes i know the last song was already more
than a month ago...). it was really hard to decide which song i want to show u
because i've been on so many amazing concerts of so many good bands who
are famous or just newcomer. i could show u thousand good bands but first i have
to start with one band. so i decided to start with howler and their song called
"this one's differnt"

i saw the band one month ago at the garage and it was an very good concert. the
band talked with the audience and tried to entertain us and the music was amazing
the band sounds live as good as on cd. the only weird thing was, that i felt old
during i watched them play...i mean the boys are just 19 years old and so successful.
even the singer looks like a teenager and then he has such a deep voice. strange but
i really like them and they make amazing music. the most i love the guitar riffs in their
songs. well now something to their "history":

howler are an indie rock band from minneapolis. the band members are jordan gatesmith,
brent mayes, ian nygaard, max petrek and france camp (real name jay simonson). the band
was formed in 2010 and they released their first ep "this one's different" (song of the week ;D)
on february 14, 2011. on their release show jon garret watched them and he though the band
has potential so he sent their ep to the famous london-based record label rough trade records
(without the knowledge of the band) and they liked them and so howler singed their record
deal in summer 2011. they supported the vaccines in summer and their name got more and
more famous. nme named howler teir #3 best new band of 2011. their debut album released
in january 2012. currently they are on tour and yeah let's see what their future brings.

hope u like the song (:

song of the week nr. 8: elija - out of use

the song of this week is from elija with "out uf use". i know it's not the kind of
music i usually listen to but i think it's a really catchy song and i want to support elija.
you should know, i was 8 years in school with him and he makes music since he was a
young boy. i think he is very talented and a "real" musician - i mean he produces his music
on his own, plays some instruments,... he won some band contests in the last years and he
was very successful with his last single called "free" (?!). if you want to know more about
him or listen to some other songs visit his homepage (german) and of course don't forget to
download "out of use". it's available on itunes, amazon and so on.

song of the week nr. 7: freddy tempest mcconnel - helpless

this week i have a different song of the week. i mean the song itself is
not different but the musician. he is dead. well let's start from the beginning:

the song of this week is called "helpless" and it's from the young singer and
songwriter called freddy tempest mcconnel

freddy was born and grown up in norfolk. he was a very intelligent guy and a
talented musician. he wrote beautiful songs with very good lyrics and i love his voice. he
always looked up to pete(r) doherty and was a big fan of the libertines (i think you can
hear it a bit in his music...). last year he also played some successful gigs in london
and he tried to make his music become more popular and i think he had everything
to become a big name in the music scene. well everything sounds good until now but:
freddy had a big problem. he was addicted to drugs. he tried some rehabs but unfortunately
the addiction was stronger. he died in may 2011 of a heroin overdose at the age of 18.
i feel sorry for his family and hope he is happy wherever he is now. and to you guys:
don't take drugs! they aren't worth to risk your life and hurt your loved ones.

but as you know this is the song of the week and i don't want to focus on the tragedy of his
life. we should concentrate on his talent and his music. i know there are some not perfect
tones but all in all i really like this song and i think he had a beautiful voice. and why shouldn't
i show you somebody who isn't that famous. with the song of the week i always try to show
you a musician or a song i can't stop listen to and i think it's worth to share.

well i hope you like the song. i know the lyric is sad but yeah i like it. if you want to hear
two more songs visit freddy's myspace page and if you want to know more about him you
can google and there are also some (music) videos on youtube.

song of the week nr. 6: boy - boris

this week the song of the week is "boris" from a pop band duo called boy
the band was formed in 2007 by valeska steiner (singer) and sonja glass. in 2011
their first album called "mutual friends" was released. if you want to know more
about them or listen to some other songs visit their homepage .

two weeks ago i was at their concert and it was really nice. you should know usually
i am not a big fan of woman who make music. i know i am a woman too but don't know
why but i prefer music of male musicians. but boy (haha the name is perfect) changed
my mind. i love the voice of valeska steiner and the music they make is so beautiful.
the stage backdrop was typical for woman. there wasn't that much light so it was kind
of a romantic atmosphere (what was not good for us photographer..^^) and there were
big bulbs which rotational blinked and a big light ball. hope you like the band too.
_________________________________________________________________________________

song of the week nr. 5: the black keys - gold on the ceiling

the song of this week is from the black keys with  "gold on the ceiling".

the black keys is a rock band duo from ohio, north america. the band was formed in
2001 by dan auerbach and patrick carney. well they have a long band history and sorry
but i am to tired to write everything so if you want to know more about the band visit
their homepage .

i just found them and i really like their music. they have very nice guitar riffs in their
songs and i love the voice of the singer. their newest album is called "brothers" and it's
worth to buy it. hope you like it.

song of the week nr. 4: the vaccines - tiger blood

the song of this week is from the vaccines and
it's called "tiger blood".
i can't imagine that i haven't shown you the band
before because i totally love this band. i could listen
them for hours. i like every single song on their album.
i think i like them more than the kooks, oh my gosh.
and it was very hard to decide which song should be
the song of the week because i - as i said - like every
single song. well i've chosen tiger blood because it's
their newest video on their youtube chanel and i also
like it.

something about the band:
the vaccines are an indie rock band who were formed in west
london in 2010. their first albums is called "what did you
expect from the vaccines?" and it was released on 14
march 2011 and reached number 4 in the uk album chart
before become the biggest selling debut by a band that
year. (buy it! it's more than worth! (: ) the band describes
their influences as "50s rock'n'roll, '60s garage and girl group,
'70s punk, '80s american hardcore, c86 and good pop music"

song of the week nr. 3: tribes - we were children

the song of this week is from tribes with
"we were children". tribes are a
four-piece indie rock band from london exactly
camden. (maybe you know that i love camden :D)
the band members johnny lloyd, dan white, miguel
demelo and jim cratchley formed the band in 2010
so you can see its more or less a young band.

"we were children" was released in april 2011 as
their first EP. the music video for this song was
filmed in camden town with the band performing
on a rooftop with onlookers and fans on the street.
unfortunately i wasn't there. i really love this video
because i think its a great idea and you can see camden
and i love camden and spent there a lot of time when
i am in london. (also in one week so if you want to
meet feel free to ask.) and there are so many
beautiful and stylish people in the video and i love
the song. i think it has a special melodie i could
listen to for hours.

in summer they played at some of the biggest british
festivals i.e. reading, leeds and some smaller festivals
like bestival and on a festival in tokyo. they played
as support of the kooks and kaiser chiefs and soon they
play together with metronomy, azealia banks and two
door cinema club at the nme awards 2012 tour. and
they are also nominated for "best new band" at the
but there also some other nomintations of some other
great bands (i.e. the vaccines) so vote vote vote (:

well again to the band, they released two weeks
ago their first album called "baby" and its really
amazing. "sappho" the first single from their album
was made available for download on there homepage
and there is still a free download available but i'm
not sure if its still this song but try it out:
if you want some more informations about the band,
their music and their current tour visit their homepage .

song of the week nr.2: stereoface - distress

the song of this week is from stereoface with distress.
stereoface are a band from my hometown and i know them since
many years. first i saw them live i think 6 years ago at a band
contest. today they released their new album called "face it".
you can download it on itunes . i really like their songs and i am
glad that they are from my hometown (: hope you like their music.
_________________________________________________________

"Stereoface – FACE IT
Mit ihrem langersehnten zweiten Album „Face It“ zeigen sich Stereoface kompromissloser
und kontrastreicher denn je. Was leise ward wird noch fragiler. Lautes umso energetischer!
experimentiert. Von Clive Martin (David Byrne, The Cure uvm.) produziert, versprechen
ewig... „When will you be there to face it?"

song of the week nr. 8: mando diao - christmas could have been good

its time for a new song of the week. this week is the song
from mando diao and it is called "christmas could have
been good". this song as the newest song of the band and i think
their first christmas song ever. it is for all the people who
aren't able to be at home with their family at christmas.

and there are also some other mando diao news: their
first best of album called "greatest hits volume 1" comes
out on 6. january 2012. it will include this christmas track
and of course all of the bands big hits.

and you know, if you want to know more about the band
and their music, ask me or visit their homepage .
________________________________________________________

the fast forwards concert

wow, yesterday i was at the concert of the fast forwards
and it was AMAZING! badly there were not that much people
but it was ok. the highlight was, when the band asked the
audience to get on the stage and dance with them. so the whole
audience got on the stage and made party during the band played
their last song. what a fun!  and i love the voice of the singer
and the sound of their music (influenced by beatles, the clash,
arctic monkeys....) if you have the chance to get on the concert
of the young swedish band - use it and go to their concert!

btw their new album and i think also first album called
"lost in the light" is out today. if you want to know more
about the band visit their page

unfortunatel i made no pictures yesterday. i had to dance (:
________________________________________________________

song of the week nr. 7: two door cinema club - something good can work

its time for a new song of the week. this week
my favourite song is from
two door cinema club with
something good can work

well about the band: they are an indie rock band formed
in bangor (northirland) in 2007. if you want to know more
about them visit their homepage .

i must admit that i knew their band name for months but i
had no idea that they make such great music. i always
thought (don't laugh) that they are an emo band. don't
know why. but since i discovered that they are an
indie rock band i really love them.

well enjoy the video, i hope you like it!
____________________________________________
cinema club mit something good can work
